Our New Adventures With Common Core
Open-Ended Graphing Center Idea With Documentation Sheet
Meets Common Core
MCC1.MD4
Directions:
Choose items for students to use and sort. Some ideas could be beans, stickers, shape erasers, pasta, etc. This is an open-ended task where you can choose your own classroom/household items to use.
Then have students sort the items and fill out the graphing data half-sheet.
At the beginning of the year, starts out small with no more than 10 items. When students are ready, increase the number of items they get to sort and graph. There are questions students can answer and interpret from data collected.
