Classroom Organization
I wanted to take a picture of my classroom before I started working but unfortunately I left my iPhone and iPad at home. So I only have pictures of these things here:

Christmas in July!
Well, I am blessed to say that it started to really feel like Christmas when I received 5 iPads in the mail from the SplashMath Springboard Challenge my class won in the spring.  Then I go to school and I was given a brand new touch-screen laptop- SAY WHAT??? On top of that, the technology department said they replaced the $500.00 bulb on my Activboard.
I am totally overwhelmed.

In lieu of technology, check out this awesome technology lesson to do with iPads.

As I have more time, I will be creating more iPad lessons for sale.

Goodbye Summer- Hello Memories
My family and I spent two weeks in Wildwood, NJ. We had such a great time with family and visiting the shore. We literally did not stop for two weeks straight so I am ready to get back to work.

Stay tuned for more about my summer reading; Power Up by Jen Roberts.

Next week, I will share my finished products for Back to School- Stay Tuned....

Back to School Homework Toolbox

I am excited to announce that I just posted my
Back to School Homework Toolbox
in my TPT store!
Get it here: Click Here

All you need to do is print resources, hand out spelling and sight word lists, and purchase boxes if you desire. You can also have parents purchase all of the boxes and supplies.
I plan on giving these as a "Back to School" gift to my students along with some kind of treat and small toy.

3rd Graders Could Also benefit from this fun way to complete homework assignments.

Reading activities can be completed with any book; picture or chapter book.

Writing resources can be used with a notebook or loose paper.

You can choose to use a smaller box if you wish, pencil box, or the bigger plastic shoe boxes. I am using boxes from Walmart that I just purchased 5 in a pack for less than $5.00.  I want it big enough to hold everything and that way the student will be organized and keep everything in one place.  Throughout the year, I plan on changing out spelling lists, reading logs, and sight word lists.  You can also send home additional math practice games and more.  Be on the look out for homework toolbox companions throughout the school year in my TPT store.

This will be my very 1st Periscope broadcast. I thought this would be a perfect way to share this new resource.
Date and Time to be Announced on my Facebook Page

Sample Resources
Writing and ELA Choice Boards: Full document has 9 choices

Sample letters to parents and directions.

Weekly homework contracts and reading logs (weekly and monthly are provided).

Sight word activities on the Tic-tac-toe board

Black and White labels to save on ink are also provided in these two formats.

Math Resources

Small snapshot; full version has 8 cards that can be played all throughout the year.

What is a hashtag?
Wikipedia suggests, "A hashtag is a type of label or metadata tag used on social network and microblogging services which makes it easier for users to find messages with a specific theme or content. Users create and use hashtags by placing the hash character (or number sign) #in front of a word or unspaced phrase, either in the main text of a message or at the end. Searching for that hashtag will then present each message that has been tagged with it". (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hashtag on July 17, 2015).
What kind of hashtag do you use?
Please comment below this post.

Having Fun @ the Jersey Shore 2015
I think I hit it on the nail with this picture :-)
They say...a picture is worth a thousand words.
This is how I spent my last two weeks.
My family and I flew into Philly and then drove to New Jersey to visit my husband's side of the family. We had such a great time.
Collage made with Pic Collage App on my iPad.

Thanks for checking me out this week!
